William "Billy" Woods

Ellabell-  William Albert “Billy’ Woods, age 84, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his home.  Mr. Woods was born May 10, 1937 in Marlow, GA to the late Marmaduke Hamilton Woods and Mattie Nathleen Cribbs Woods.  He was retired from Clay Rick Paving Company where he operated heavy equipment.  He previously worked with CRX Railroad.  Mr. Woods enjoyed fishing, was a collector of knives and attended Faulkville Holy Church of God.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his wife, Harriette Smith Woods; three sisters, Margaret Rahn, Mildred Hall and Eunice Lowe and two brothers, Wallace Woods and Eugene Woods.

Survivor include his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Lynn Hathcock of Albemarle, NC; two grandsons, Dylan and D.J. Strickland; several nieces and nephews, including Sara Lee “Suzy” Ellington and William Robert “Billy” Hall; numerous great nieces and nephews and one great great niece.

A memorial service will be held 5:00 P.M. Monday, December 20, 2021 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
