Pembroke, GA - Ms. Mary T. Murphy, aged 76, lost her hard-fought, courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA. Ms. Murphy was of the Catholic Faith and originally from Cambridge, MA, born to the late Harold F. Murphy and Mary T. (O’Donnell) Murphy. Ms. Murphy was a retired Emergency Communications Dispatcher for the City of Cambridge and upon her retirement fulfilled a long-standing dream of retiring to the South. During her retirement, she worked various jobs to keep busy and satisfy her inner social butterfly. Notably, she worked for some time as an Emergency Communications Dispatcher for Bryan County at the Sheriff’s office in Richmond Hill. She also worked downtown at Harvey’s in the Deli department and was a door greeter at Sam’s Club in Pooler. Ms. Murphy loved vacationing, swimming, decorating for all the holidays, crocheting, reading, karaoke and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by; her husband of 31 years, Paul J. Sheehan, Sr., and her daughter Theresa E. Sheehan, brothers, Harold F. Murphy, and James J. Murphy, Sr.

Ms. Murphy is survived by her brothers; Henry Murphy of Reading, MA, and Joseph Murphy of The Villages, FL., daughter, Karen (Kirk) McElroy of Pembroke, GA, a son, Paul J. Sheehan, Jr., also of Pembroke, GA., grandchildren, Megan Kavanagh (her caregiver throughout her 9 month battle with AML) of Pembroke, GA, Stephen P. Toscano (Fiance - Amanda Brooke Menth) of Jackson, NJ, Max McElroy of Pembroke, GA, Victoria Vieira-Sheehan of NH, Celeste Riddle of Everett, MA, Amber Riddle of Everett, MA., and great-granddaughter, Layla., Her Godson, John Henry Russin of Kentucky. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a large extended family and many special friends. She never met a stranger. She also leaves behind her faithful loving companion and protector, Murphy (the German Shepherd).

A memorial service will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
