Pembroke- Mary E. Anderson, age 77, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 after an extended illness. Mrs. Anderson was born September 15, 1944 in Black Creek to the late Clarence McDonald Hamilton, Sr. and Ouida Cowart Hamilton. She was a seamstress at Pembroke manufacturing and worked at J M Video in Pembroke for 32 years. Mrs. Anderson loved to travel, especially to the mountains; was an excellent cook; loved to crochet; shop and color on her iPad. However, her favorite job was being a mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William John “Bill” Anderson; one son, William “Little Bill” Anderson; one granddaughter, Courtney Mckenzie Anderson; brothers, Clarence “Buck” Hamilton, Kyle Hamilton, Charles Hamilton, Eugene Hardly Hamilton and one sister, Ouida Faye Hamilton.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Ronnie Howard of Pembroke and Rita and Donald Kiltz of Collins; one brother, Ernest Hamilton of Pembroke; one sister and her fiancé, Laverne Scott and David Vangiller of Pembroke; grandchildren, Katie Anderson, Billy and Honia Anderson, Todd Anderson, Sunny Beasley and her fiancé, Rick Lee, Bradley Howard, Junior Kiltz, Christopher Kiltz, Brianna Kiltz, and Gracie Kiltz; great grandchildren, Hunter Lee, Abigail Lee, Addy Cook, Hudson Howard and Kyndall Anderson and several nieces, nephews and counsins.
Visitation will be held 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.
Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
