Marvin Edward “Eddie” Davis, age 74, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 in the presence of his loving wife of over 52 years, Mrs. Marie "Chris" Davis; daughter, Sheri Davis and his granddaughter, Lynea Davis. Mr. Davis was born in Savannah, GA to the late Martin Emmett Davis and Audrey Christine Smith Davis. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War on the USS Kittyhawk in the Gulf of Tonkin. After his service to his country, Mr. Davis worked in the chemical division of Union Camp. He retired with over 25 years of service. Mr. Davis was of the Baptist Faith and loved to travel. He and his wife enjoyed traveling. He loved to visit Cade’s Cove and the western states. He also enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by one son, Michael James Davis and one granddaughter, Melissa DeLoach.
Survivors include his wife, Marie “Chris” Davis of Bloomingdale; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Edward and Donna Davis of Midway; one daughter, Sheri Davis of Bloomingdale; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lynn Davis of Black Creek; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tammy Carter of Midway and Rita and Alfred Banks of Ellabell; grandchildren, Brianna Davis, Lauren Rich, Ryan McNeil, Matthew Davis, Madison Davis Hayes, Ethan Davis, Brandon Davis, Phillip Scroggin, Brooke Skeen, David Scroggin, Lynea Davis, Nathan Strickland, Amrie Strickland, Lillie Strickland and Maddox Davis.
Visitation will be Noon until 1 P.M. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at The CrossRoad Baptist Church in Savannah.
Funeral service will follow at 1 P.M. at the church with Pastor Johnny Bowen officiating.
Interment will follow at Daniel Baptist Church Cemetery in Richmond Hill.
