Mr. Luther Wayne (Lukey) Parrish, age 55, passed away at his residence on December 15, 2021. Mr. Parrish was born on November 16, 1966 in Odessa, TX to the late Herman and Maxie Huff Parrish. He was a dump truck driver for over 15 years of which 7 years was spent with his family company, Parrish Trucking. Mr. Parrish helped start the North Bryan County Volunteer Fire Department where he served for over 3 years. He was an avid race fan, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and making people laugh, especially the children in his life.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Jean Parrish McGrath and Lola Brown; two twin nieces, Nicole Parrish and Infant Parrish.
Survivors include one sister, Wanda (Susie) Parrish of Ellabell; two brothers, Henry Parrish and his wife Brenda and David Parrish all of Ellabell; four nieces, Brandy and Jennifer Parrish, Celena and Amy Brown all of Ellabell and one nephew, Nicolas Parrish of Ellabell. Even though Lukey did not have children of his own, his family extended to Donna Phillips and all of her children. Leroy Phillips, Tina Phillips, Donita Crosby and Kim Fordham and all of her grandchildren which he considered and loved as his own.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.
