Pembroke- Linda Gail Callahan Sikes, age 72, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Sikes was born in Stilson, GA on March 7, 1950, to the late Plezzy William Callahan and Lucy Beatrice Schearback Callahan. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, a 33 year breast cancer survivor and a devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church. Mrs. Sikes was a member of the Beulah Baptist Choir, was a church messenger, was a leader of the WMU group, served on the social committee, was a former Sunday School Teacher, served on the kitchen staff for Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Margie Bryant Senior Sunday School Class. Mrs. Linda also had a love for gardening, enjoyed taking care of her flowers and hummingbirds and loved to be a part of home improvement projects. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sikes was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Callahan, Jimmy Callahan, and Ricky Callahan and three sisters, Pat Sikes, Sheryl Greathouse and Nellie Henderson.
Survivors include husband of 53 years, Lloyd C. Sikes of Pembroke; one son, Stephen W. (Gina) Sikes of Pembroke; three daughters, Lisa Sikes of Pembroke, Chrissy (Sam) Johnson of Guyton and Caroline Sikes of Ellabell; one sister, Barbara Callahan of Guyton; 10 grandchildren, Justin (Catlin) Gray, Mitchell Tillman, Tyler (Tayler) Tillman, Ryan (Shelby) Mew, Kayleigh (Frankie) Mew, Courtney Smith, Michael Sikes, Carly Johnson, Joel Johnson, and Christian Johnson and two great grandchildren, Aubrie Hutson and Cooper Hutson.
Visitation will be held 6-9 P.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating.
Interment will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you plant a tree in Pembroke in memory of Mrs. Linda, to replace ones that were lost in the storm.
