Mr. Herbert Loren Anderson, age 72, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Savannah on April 19, 1948 to A.V. and Estelle Anderson. He was a 1967 graduate of Bryan County High School and served his country in the U.S Army.  Mr. Anderson worked as a road construction worker with Shelly Shuman Construction, owned and operated of Anderson Paving Company and served as superintendent of public works for the city of Pembroke from 2004 – 2013.   He was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church but has attended Cedar Crossing Baptist Church since 2006.  He was a volunteer fireman for North Bryan County, a member of Pembroke Masonic Lodge #469 F & AM and of Bryan County Shrine Club.  Mr. Anderson loved gardening, planting fruit trees, grape vines, traveling and enjoyed gospel singing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clark Anderson and one sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Durrence.

Survivors include his loving wife of 13 years, Barbie Riner Anderson; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shari Anderson of Richmond Hill, Nicole and Emory Denham of Pooler and Terry and Derek Mason of Minnesota; stepchildren, Annette and Jamie Victor, both of Pembroke, Angie Turner of Nevils, Tony White of Sandersville, John White of Nevils, Evelyn Joyner of Brooklet and Daniel White of Nevils, grandchildren, Morgan Barfield, Chandler Benoit, Dustin Denham, Brendan Denham, Gunnar Mason, Megan Mason, Chesney Mason and Jeremy Mason and many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church.

Funeral service will follow with Reverend Reese Mincey, Pastor Stan Tyson and Mr. George Powell officiating.  Mr. Anderson’s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.   Interment will be private.
