Mr. Wilson “Bert” Williamson, age 77, passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Mr. Williamson was born in Lyons, GA to the late Woodrow Williamson and Venice Williamson on September 9, 1945. He worked all his life as a master carpenter and was a member of the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge #116 F & A M. Mr. Williamson was a jack of all trades; he could rebuild old vehicle motors, build a home from the foundation up, was a very talented musician and taught guitar and banjo lessons at his home. When Paul Anderson was traveling and doing strongman weight lifting shows, Wilson would drive him to the many places Paul performed and helped setup his stage for the performances.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Williamson and sister, Gloria Dethardt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Williamson; five children: Karen Lavely of Savannah, Kirby Williamson and his wife, Kim of Savannah, Kevin Williamson and his wife, Theresa of Brooklet, Kriston Williamson and his wife, Evgenia of Arizona and Michael Farley and his wife, Mary of Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Ohoopee Cemetery in Lyons.
