Walter Jordan Logan, Jr.

Mr. Walter Jordan Logan, Jr., 82, passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Mr. Logan was born in Savannah to the late Walter Jordan Logan, Sr. and Lois Griner Logan on July 27, 1942. After graduating from high school, he started his career with CSX for over 41 years as a trainman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Pembroke where he was a member of the Seasoned Saints. He was also a member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge #452 F & AM, Alee Shriners and the UTU. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and the University of Georgia Bulldogs but most important to him, was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Walter “Wally” Jordan Logan, III.; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Morgan and Lowell Morgan.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Logan; daughter, Lisa Poythress and her husband Chuck of Black Creek; daughter-in-law, Melissa Logan of Rincon; six grandchildren, Ryan Poythress and his wife Amanda, Tyler Poythress and his wife Logan, Zach Logan, Mathew Logan, Noah Logan and Anthony Diaz; three great grandchildren, Hadley Poythress, Palmer Poythress and Landyn Poythress and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Pembroke.

Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Tommy Smith officiating.

Burial will be held at Northside Cemetery.
