Pembroke, GA - Wallace Clifford "Dub" Chavis Jr., a devoted mechanic and avid outdoorsman, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on a Friday, February 9th, 1962, in Savannah, Georgia, Dub demonstrated a tireless work ethic and a passion for the natural world throughout his life.

Dub made his home in Pembroke, GA, where he was a talented mechanic, spending many years dedicated to his craft at Dan Vaden. His diligence and expertise earned him numerous certifications and recognitions for his exemplary contributions to his workplace. Beyond the professional realm, Dub found joy in tinkering with anything that had a motor, extending his mechanical inclinations into his everyday life.

Away from the garage, Dub was happiest outdoors, enjoying the tranquility and adventure that came with hunting, fishing, and camping. He embraced the rustic beauty of Georgia, fostering a deep connection with nature that was evident in every pursuit he followed.

Dub was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Clifford Chavis Sr.; his mother, Margaret Covington Kitchens; his dad, George Kitchens; and his beloved pets, Baby Girl and Dog. He is survived by his siblings, Wanda Lively (Ellis) of Cobbtown, GA, Richard Chavis (Dixie) of Pembroke, GA, Sammy Chavis (Janet) of Ellabell, GA, and Theresa Cowart (David) of Pembroke, GA. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews, along with numerous great nieces and nephews who cherished the time spent with their beloved uncle.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dub’s life at a Memorial Gathering to be held at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory, Pembroke, GA, on Friday, March 27th, 2026, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Arrangements have been lovingly provided by Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory.

Dub's legacy of hard work, kindness, and love for the outdoors will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed, but forever remembered.
