Ellabell-  Virginia McDonald Cribb, age 84, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014.  Born Nov. 11, 1929 in Hazlehurst, Ga, she was the daughter of Lynn and Lattice McDonald.  At an early age, she and her family moved to Ray City, GA where she met her future husband, Edward D. Cribb.  They were in their 54 th year of marriage when he passed away in 2003.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Walter McDonald, and her sisters, Wanda Cook and Geneve Ray.  Two sisters, Evelyn Kirkland of Valdosta and Nina Smith of Warner Robins survive, along with many nieces and nephews.

Virginia and Edward have two daughters;  Virginia Lynnette “Dee Dee” Goodwin and Jacqueline Anne “Jackie" Cribb.  She was also blessed with a son-in-law, Mark Goodwin; five grandchildren, Brian Goodwin (Leslie), Barry Goodwin (Jennifer), Brooke Goodwin Anderson, Bethany Goodwin, and Hannah Goodwin; and five great grandchildren, Zach Anderson, A.J. Anderson, Emma Goodwin, Peyton Goodwin, and Taylor Goodwin.

Virginia lived in Savannah for many years before moving to North Bryan County in 1991.  She worked several jobs, always choosing jobs that would allow her to be home with her girls after school.  She worked at Byrd Cookie Co., J.C. Clements Furniture, and was one of the first hired when the Kmart on Montgomery Crossroads opened in Savannah.

She was very active in church in her younger days, teaching Sunday School and VBS at Antioch Baptist Church, and later as a member of Bonna Bella Baptist Church.  She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing Southern gospel music.

She loved her flowers, her cats, and her little dog Cuddles.  She loved to go to yard sales and shopping.  She liked to pick up little “treasures” for her grands and great grands on her shopping trips.  She was an excellent seamstress, and made beautiful dresses for her daughters when they were young.

Visitation will be 6-8 P.M Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.  Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
