Mr. Timothy “Tim” Francis Kilmer, 70, passed away at Bryan County Health and Rehab on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Mr. Kilmer was born in Lorain, OH on March 29, 1950 to Alpheus “Al” and Florence Pawlak Kilmer. After high school, he joined and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service, he was self-employed as a low-voltage electrician for 41 years and then worked at the ReStore - Habitat for Humanity of Effingham in Rincon for over three years.  He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Pembroke; he loved and was very devoted to his Catholic faith and served as an Alter Boy during his rearing. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 209 in Effingham and a former Boy Scout Leader. For a number of years, he served as an officer on the Parent Teacher Organization and coached baseball. Mr. Kilmer enjoyed and loved to lend a helping hand. He loved the outdoors and on numerous occasions hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Yes, he was a pirate, two-hundred years too late.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alpheus “Al” Kilmer and brother, Anthony Kilmer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Linda Joyce Sikes Kilmer; two sons, Matthew Kilmer and his wife Tracy and Kevin Kilmer, all of Ellabell; daughter, Lori Kilmer of Ellabell; mother, Florence Pawlak Kilmer of Grandview, MO; three brothers, Joe Kilmer and his wife Karen of Lawson, MO, Ken Kilmer and his wife Dorothy of Independence, MO and Paul Kilmer of Grandview, MO; sister, Marilyn Whiting of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Cameron Kilmer, Kayla Kilmer and Lucy Overstreet all of Ellabell; niece, Rachel Kilmer of Independence, MO and nephew, David Whiting of Tucson, AZ.

Memorial service will be private.

Inurnment will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery-Glennville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ReStore, Habitat for Humanity, 3605 Highway 21 South, Rincon, GA 31326.
