Terry Mccoy

Mr. Terry Alvin McCoy, age 60, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Candler Hospital. Mr. Terry was born in Pembroke on May 15, 1958 to the late Alton and Mary Davis McCoy.  Mr. Terry was a 1976 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School.  He was a former Vice Chairman of the Development Authority of Bryan County and was a former member of the Downtown Development Authority of Pembroke.  Mr. Terry was a former member of Pembroke Christian Church and Pembroke United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the Pembroke United Methodist Community Outreach and was a member of the Pembroke United Methodist Men’s Club.  He is currently a member at East Main Street Church of God, Statesboro.  Mr. Terry was the co-owner and operator of the former Mo’s Discount Lumber and Salvage and was the current owner and operator of Owens Supply Company and co-owner of Storehouse Salvage.  He loved his wife, his children and grandchildren.  Mr. Terry embodied the hands and feet of Jesus.  He was a living epistle.  Mr. Terry had a tremendous work ethic and loved to share and teach those that he worked with.  He had a genuine love of community and those living in it. He enjoyed watching and feeding his birds in the mornings; enjoyed the mountains and lived a life of excellence.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby McCoy, Billy McCoy and Donald George “Donnie” McCoy.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Marcia Owens McCoy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany M. and Joseph Walraven and Hannah M. and Randy DeLoach; son and daughter-in-law, Jordon and Sarah McCoy mother and father-in-law, Harry and Elvie Owens, brother and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Gail McCoy, Debbie Owens Catherine McCoy and Janara McCoy; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty and Billy Lanier and Annette and Ray Bacon, both of Pembroke and Ruth and Steve Bacon of Blackshear; grandchildren, Madelyn “Monkey” Walraven, Emily “LuLu” DeLoach, Lily “Willie” “Little Becky” Walraven, Bailey “Bob Bob” DeLoach, Jeremiah “Me Too” Walraven, and LaRenne “LO-retta Lynn” McCoy; and many cousins, nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at East Main Street Church of God in Statesboro.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the East Main Street Church of God in Statesboro.

Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery.
