Pembroke- Mary Sue Timms Quattlebaum, age 79, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Quattlebaum was born April 10, 1945 in Cuthbert, GA to the late Windell Russell Timms, Sr. and Mary Hazel Dunaway Timms. Mrs. Sue was a long-time resident of Pembroke and served as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Dr. W. E. Smith for many years. She was a volunteer EMT for North Bryan County and served in the law enforcement division of the Department of Transportation, Weights and Scales Division. Mrs. Sue was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, enjoyed traveling, needlepoint and cross stitching. She was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association and was a morning regular at Enmarket for coffee. 

 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Quattlebaum was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Gene Quattlebaum, one son, W. Kerry Smith and her brother, Windell “Buddy” Russell Timms, Jr.

 

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Katrina Smith of Pembroke; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth Smith DeAvila and Luis DeAvila of Burlington, NC; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Walter William Timms, Sr of Randolph County, GA and Raymond Lewis and Melissa Timms of Lee County, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Smith, Ethan Smith, William Kyle DeAvila and Kaitlyn Daniele DeAvila; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

A graveside service will be held 5 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Northside Cemetery with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating.
