Newington

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Solomon Bobby Sanders, who peacefully departed from this world on Monday, December 15th, 2025, just shy of his 84th birthday. Born on Friday, December 26th, 1941, in Barnwell, South Carolina, Solomon was a resident of Newington, GA, where he shared his life and love with family and friends.

Solomon was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Barbara Forshee Sanders, cherishing their time together as a loving partner. A role model and guide, he was a proud and supportive father to his two children, Renee' of Massachusetts and Shannon of Nebraska. His heart and home extended to his stepchildren, Stephen Megginson (Shannon) of Savannah and Charles Megginson of Valdosta. His legacy lives on in his numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who adored their grandfather and uncle. Solomon also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Debbie Ryder of Ellabell, and brother-in-law, Wayne Forshee (Angie) of Thunderbolt, cherishing the familial bonds they shared.

Solomon was preceded in death by his parents, JW and Janie Sue Sanders, his stepson, Phillip Megginson, grandmother Margie Forshee, and sister-in-law, Janet Donaldson. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them.

A dedicated and skilled Motor Rewinder at Emco Electrical Machinery, Solomon took pride in his work and was respected by his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Solomon was a man of varied interests and hobbies. Known for his love of tinkering, his skill in the garden, and his passion for fishing, Solomon embodied the spirit of curiosity and outdoorsmanship. As a back seat driver with a sharp sense of humor and a penchant for discussions over meals at the Old Times Buffet, his presence brought joy to those around him.

A fantastic and loving husband, an excellent provider, and a wonderful father and stepfather, Solomon's legacy is one filled with love, kindness, and generosity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, a testament to his character and his role as a cherished community member and a good man.

Arrangements for Solomon Bobby Sanders are provided by Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory. His memory will be celebrated as we gather to honor a life well-lived and a soul that will be deeply missed.
