Sherrie Jill Lanier

Pembroke- Sherrie Jill Anderson Lanier, age 72, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 while under the care of Hospice Savannah. Mrs. Lanier was born in Savannah, GA to the late Heyward Anderson and Henrietta Hagan Anderson. Mrs. Jill was a 1971 graduate of Savannah High School and a member of Compassion Christian Church-Henderson Campus. She was a licensed beautician, but her most important job was being a homemaker for her husband and children. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed camping, loved going shopping with her daughter and was very particular about her appearance. She loved to sparkle and shine. Jack and Jill, of Richmond Hill, rode Harleys and she was a member of the Ladies of Harley of Savannah. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by her brothers, Andy “Ebb” Anderson and Nicholas “Nicky” B. Anderson.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jack Russell “Rusty” Lanier of Pembroke; one daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Shannon Bancroft of Pembroke; one son and daughter-in-law, Brett Russell and Jennifer Lanier of Pembroke; one sister, Brenda Sutton of Wilmington Island and four grandchildren, Collin Bancroft, Grayson Lanier, Lyla Lanier and Wilder Lanier.

Visitation will be held 1-2 P.M. Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the funeral home

Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, September 18, 2025 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Grayson Wingfield officiating, assisted by Mr. Jeff Sutton. Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
