Pembroke, GA - Shelley Wynn Kucharek, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Born on March 18, 1954, in Columbus, Georgia, Shelley was 71 years old at the time of her passing. She was a cherished member of the Pembroke community, where she resided for many years with her loving family.

Shelley is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Richard Melvin Kucharek. Their marriage was a testament to a life built on love, respect, and shared dreams. Shelley also leaves behind her daughter, Mindy Walker of Richmond Hill; her three sons, Richard Kucharek of Pottstown, PA, Jason Kucharek of Boyertown, PA, and Matthew Kucharek of Boyertown, PA. She was a proud "Grammy" to her granddaughter, Jasmine Walker, and treasured her several great-grandchildren. Her memory will also be cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shelley was predeceased by her parents, Ernest Lee Buford and Carolyn Wynn Thompson, a sister who passed at birth, and her beloved granddaughter, Jayla Walker. Their memories held a special place in her heart and were a constant source of inspiration in her life.

Professionally, Shelley dedicated 12 years of service as a Property Book Officer at the Department of Defense. Her commitment to her work demonstrated her meticulous nature and strong sense of responsibility.

Beyond her profession, Shelley was a woman of many talents and interests. She was known for her exceptional baking skills and was an amazing homemaker. Her home was a sanctuary of love, filled with the aroma of her delicious treats and the laughter of her family.

Visitation for Shelley will be held at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory in Pembroke, GA, on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Those who knew and loved Shelley are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her life. As per the family's wishes, a private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for memorial donations to be made to Southeast Beagle Rescue.
