Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Veale Carter, 85, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Carter was born in Sylvester, GA on July 22, 1932 to Howard S. and Irene Shackleford Veale. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, member of Rincon First Baptist Church, enjoyed blue grass music, had a green thumb, was an excellent cook and nothing was more important to her than her family.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, William “Bill” Homer Carter of Guyton; two sons, James H. Carter of Pembroke and W. Scott Carter of Guyton; daughter, Kim A. Bean and her husband Michael of Guyton; two brothers, Randall Veale and Buster Veale; two sisters, Martha Jane Pearman and Joyce Tesney; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery-Glennville with Reverend Thelma Carlysle officiating.

Burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery-Glennville.
