Sandra Elaine Newman McAllister, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the age of 67. Born in Lawton, Oklahoma, on September 18, 1958, Sandra brought warmth and love to those around her from the very start.
Sandra was a devoted mother to her children, James McAllister Jr. (Rachael) and Christy Elaine Metzger (Keith), with whom she shared a love-filled bond. Her time spent going to the movies with her son were cherished memories, while her immense love for her grandchildren was evident in every visit and conversation. She leaves behind adored grandchildren: Anna Elaine, James III, Jennifer, Samantha, Katrina, Hunter, Miki, Jason "JJ", Caleb. Courtney, Michael, and Alice as well as five precious great-grandchildren, Zoe, Charlie, Suzanna, Harmony and Kaisley.
Sandra delighted in the simple pleasures of life, from collecting angels to displaying her cherished stuffed animals with pride. She was the quintessential neighborhood mom, known and loved by all the children, who would often gravitate to her home for her warmth and hospitality. Her beloved dog, Angel, was her constant companion, and the love she gave to Angel was reflective of the affection she bestowed upon everyone in her life.
A member of an extensive and loving family, Sandra is survived by her siblings: Debra "Dee Dee" Long, Alan Newman (Jeanie), Mike Newman (Vera), David Newman, April Newman Blum, Melinda Hayes, Victor Newman, and Joseph Newman. Her step-mother, Beth Newman, along with numerous nieces and nephews, mourn the loss of her joyous spirit.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Hillie Newman Sr.; her mother, Janice Burkhalter Mobley; her brother, Hillie Newman Jr.; and her step-father, Melvin Mobley, each of whom she remembered and cherished throughout her life.
Arrangements for Sandra are entrusted to Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory, with services to be held at a later date. Details will be announced once plans are finalized to ensure that all who loved Sandra have the opportunity to celebrate her beautiful life.
