Sammie Felice "Sam" Cleland, a beloved member of the Pembroke community, passed away on Friday, June 12th, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on Monday, October 2nd, 1967, in Augusta, Georgia, Sam lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to family and friends.

Sam made a lasting impact through her work as a Certified Nurse Assistant she devoted 20 years of compassionate care. Her kindness and empathy were felt by patients and colleagues alike, and her presence will be deeply missed.

She cherished simple pleasures, like watching true crime television, enjoying classic country music, and relishing in conversations with those she loved. Sam had a profound love for fishing, and she took great joy in spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Sam was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 17 years, Johnny "Doolittle" Cleland, son, Jessie Shawn Dean Calloway; her parents Tommy Lee Raffield, Sr. and Mary Mixon Raffield and her brothers Tommy Lee Raffield, Jr. and Samuel Dean Raffield.

She is survived by her loving son, Chris Calloway (Candace) of Belton, TX, and daughter, Jessica Calloway of Pembroke, GA. Sam's supportive family also includes her brother, Bruce Raffield (Shannon) of Barnwell, SC, and her best friend in life, Priscilla Leuschen (Sean), along with their children, David Leuschen and Gabriel Leuschen. Sam's legacy lives on through her seven cherished grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Sam's life at the visitation to be held on Friday, June 19th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Flanders Powell Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel, where memories of her joyous life will be shared.

Sam will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
