Ruby Holloway

Charleston- Ruby Belle Parrish Holloway, age 88 passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Trident Medical Center.  Mrs. Holloway was born in Bryan County, GA on July 3, 1930, to the late Perry and Belle Shuman Parrish.  She was a 1947 graduate of Bryan County High School and received her Associate Degree in Education from Georgia Teachers College.  Mrs. Holloway taught elementary school in Bryan County for three years and served as an administrative assistant in the personnel department at Fort Stewart for eight years.  After moving to Wilton Manors, FL, she served as a legal secretary and title researcher in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ft. Lauderdale and enjoyed bowling, dancing and needle work.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holloway was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Holloway and brothers, P.K. Parrish and Jack Parrish; sisters, Sue Flanagan and Anne Parrish.

Survivors include her nephews, Wesley Flanagan of Jackson Hole, WY and Melvin Parrish of Appling, GA; nieces Helen Ivy of North Charleston,SC Brenda Laney of Summerville, SC and Sheila Peck of Pembroke, GA and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating.  Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Pembroke or the American Cancer Society.
