Rosa Peny Purcell

It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my life partner, my best friend,and my wife of 23 years.

Rosa Peny (Gidget) Purcell of Ellabell, GA died peacefully & painlessly in her sleep on Monday June 9th.

Rose was a fighter, who tackled her share of pain and adversity with a vicious tenacity.. She was a five year cancer survivor, still mourning the recent accidental death of her grandson Christopher Ristau. But, no matter what befell her, she went through life with a smile on her face and a relentless love of life in her heart!Those who were lucky enough to know her understood that she was a totally selfless person, always there to help with a kind word and a prayer for anyone she knew, or strangers she met on the street. She truly put everybody's concerns & feelings above her her own, a personality trait that you don't see much anymore.Most of all, she loved me totally "with all her peapicking heart" as she used to say, a love that too many times I did not deserve. It really is true that "you don't know what you've got till it's gone"

Rose is survived by her husband (me) Gregory Purcell, Sister Earlene Tillman and her son Victor Dickerson, his ex wife Jaime Wilmet and their sons Dylan, Logan, Hayden, Colton. Sister Elizabeth (Tootsie) Lattimore, and her sons Ernest, and Willis Sister Josephine Brown and her children: Wanda Giles, her husband Stephen, daughters Victoria Davis & Rachel Mole & Rachel's daughters Elise & Emerson, Angie Strickland & her husband Joeseph, son Gabriel & daughter Laura Brown & her son Lincoln & daughter Emma. Tina Foley & her husband Pastor George Foley & their sons Noah, Collin, Christian & their daughter Joslyn Daughter Sharon Ristau & her children Christopher Ristau (recently deceased) Ashley Purvis ,her husband Jake and stepson Travis, and Rose's absolute "Eyeball" 2 year old daughter Lexi, Son Alexander Owens, his wife Sorin and their newborne child Rigby. Daughter Donna Phillips & her children Jonathan Burke (who Rose actually raised,) & his wife Tara. Also Donavan Burke & his fiancee JD Wills, and Kayla Basco, her husband Hunter & their daughter Madeline Rose & son Maddox.

Services are scheduled for Friday June 27, 4PM at the Keys of the Kingdom Fellowship Church in Pooler. I and the family humbly ask for donations in lieu of flowers to offset the unexpected expenses this life shattering event has brought upon us.
