Ronny Lamar
Douglas
May 2, 1952 – May 27, 2026
Ronny Lamar Douglas, 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2027. He was born on a very sunny day in Fernandina Beach, Fl on May 2, 1952. He was the third child of six children to Earnest J. Douglas and Mary Akins Douglas. Ronny was a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church in Dobson, NC until he moved back to his childhood state of Georgia in early March where he resided with his sister, Trudie.
Ronny is a retired Navy veteran and after the military, he took his father occupation as a welder; he was a wood working professional and a master lock smith. Ronny was a member of the V.F.W. of Mt. Airy, NC and he played taps at many veterans funeral services. His favorite holiday was Christmas, when he celebrated the birth of his personal savior, Jesus Christ. Easter was his second favorite. He loved to be the egg hider for all of his nieces and nephews to hunt, but he never forgot the true meaning of Easter, the day Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we all could be saved. Only through Jesus Christ can we all be forgiven of our earthly sins. Hallelujah!!
Ronny is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Diana Daghir Douglas; his father and mother, Earnest J. and Mary Akins Douglas; one of the lovingest sister and her husband, Jackie Cooler (Louie) and one brother and his wife, Harvey Douglas (Sonya).
Ronny is survived by one daughter; Brendale Perkins (David) of Brooksville, Fl; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Anna "Trudie" Carter of Ellabell; two brothers, Joey Douglas of Savannah and Leon Douglas of Silver Springs, Fl; one very special niece who came home from the hospital on Ronny's 15th birthday, he always called her the "best birthday present ever", Lisa Bledsoe (Jason) of Rincon and Tammy Crosby of NC who has been like family and helped with Ronny's care through his illness.
