Rita Ann Brownlee

Rita Ann Reidinger Brownlee, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on Saturday, February 11th, 1961, in Newark, New Jersey, Rita was a beacon of warmth and love to all who knew her.

Rita dedicated her life to nurturing and bringing joy to others, both in her professional career and in her personal life. She spent her days as a Culinary Specialist at Rincon Elementary School, where she shared her passion for cooking with countless students. Her warmth extended beyond the kitchen as she created an environment where both students and colleagues felt cherished.

Rita was a dedicated member of her community, finding joy in both the simplicity of crafting and the vibrant laughter of her grandchildren. Her hobbies were numerous, from spending sunny days on the beaches of New Jersey to creating beautiful crafts. Above all, her greatest delight was doting on her grandchildren and spending cherished moments with her family.

Rita is survived by her devoted husband of 23 years, David Ray Brownlee; her three loving sons, Justin Yuhaze (Julie) of New Jersey, Benjamin Brownlee (Kathy) of New Jersey, and Everett "E.J." Alley of Rincon; and her precious grandchildren, Claire and Audrey Yuhaze, Brooke and Beau Brownlee, Elly Anna Hope Alley, Maddalyn Alaine Alley, and Rhett Douglas Bacot, who were the light of her life.

She also leaves behind her four brothers, Howard Reidinger (Linda) of Indiana, William Reidinger (Glory) of Florida, Michael Reidinger (Karen Rodisch) of New Jersey, Kevin Reidinger (Lisa) of New Jersey, and her sister, Monica Lennie of New Jersey. Rita was preceded in death by her loving parents, Sylvester L. Reidinger and Margaret V. Reidinger, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms and two brothers, David Reidinger and Bernard Reidinger.

Although services will be private, Rita’s spirit and memory will be celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The arrangements have been kindly entrusted to Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory.

In honoring Rita's life, those who wish to pay tribute are encouraged to embrace her love for cooking, take joy in crafting, and extend kindness and warmth to those around them, keeping her spirit alive in everyday actions.

May Rita Ann Reidinger Brownlee's beautiful soul rest in eternal peace, and may her family find comfort in the countless memories of love and joy they shared together.
