Pembroke, GA - Rickey Adam Peoples, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, at his home in Pembroke, Georgia. Born on Monday, September 4th, 1961, Rickey embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a caring heart, leaving behind cherished memories with those who knew him.
Rickey was a skilled metal fabricator and dedicated his professional career to Omega Steel. His passion for working with his hands extended beyond his occupation; he was a talented woodworker and whittler who delighted in creating with precision and care. Rickey's love for the outdoors was profound, often spending his days fishing, hunting, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Known as a tinkerer, he could frequently be found repairing lawn equipment or working on various projects at home.
A pillar of strength and joy within his family, Rickey shared a beautiful life with his wife of 35 years, Nena Peoples. Together they built a loving family, including their children Amanda Moore (Jeremy), Steven Peoples (Lisa), Miranda Burnsed, and David Andrew Harrelson. Rickey was a doting Pops and Papa to grandchildren Tori Moore, Hayden Peoples, Mackenzie Moore, Owen, Nathan, and Levi Burnsed, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Rickey is survived by his siblings Patricia Jenkins, Judy Fanning (Johnny), Jerry Shurling (Stevie), and Kenny Peoples (Earnestine). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James "JD" Edward and Geraldine Murphy Peoples, his son Corey J. Peoples, and his brother Billy Edward Peoples Sr.
A man of many talents, Rickey was renowned for his culinary skills, especially for his venison dishes, and as a wonderful house husband and caretaker to his family and home. His presence filled every family gathering with warmth and kindness; his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rickey's life at a memorial service on Friday, November 28th, 2025, at 2:30 pm at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory in Pembroke, GA.
