Mr. Richard Preston Tyler, 73, passed away suddenly at Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Mr. Tyler was born in Washington, DC to the late Elmer Richard Tyler and Marie Carmela Anselmo Tyler on August 26, 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later started his career as a master plumber. Mr. Tyler worked for over 10 years with Henry Plumbing, later for over 20 years with E.H. Hutson Plumbing and lastly with over 10 years, TFW. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Cathedral in Savannah and enjoyed working, fishing when he had the opportunity and showing his love by cooking breakfast for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Richard Tyler and Marie Carmela Anselmo Tyler.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Robin Tyler; two children, Richard Tyler (Elissa) of Largo, FL and Brandy Dyal (Reggie) of Ellabell; seven siblings, Linda Powell (Mike) of Ellabell, Mike Tyler (Mary) of Ellabell, Nancy Kromer (Donnie) of Ellabell, Billy Tyler (Cindy) of Pooler, Theresa Butcher (Tom) of Enterprise, Al and Gloria Ann Tyler of New Port Richey, Fl; six grandchildren, Logan, Lindsey, Damian, Aaliyah, Lucas and Anthony; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Cavanah officiating.
Burial will be held at Bethany Church of Ellabell Cemetery with military honors.
