Paul Parks

Pembroke- Sergeant First Class, retired Paul Cleveland Parks, age 83 passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at his home after an extended illness.  Mr. Parks was born in Ravenscroft, TN on July 7, 1936 to the late William Henry and Dolly Hodge Parks.  Mr. Parks was retired from the United States Army where he served over 29 years and two tours of duty in Vietnam.  After retirement from the Army, he served as a security officer for Candler Hospital for over ten years.  Mr. Parks enjoyed camping and fishing, and he was an accomplished guitarist.  He and his wife both enjoyed singing at Northside Baptist Church, where he was a member.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his son, Audie Parks and five brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lois Parks of Pembroke; one son, Gregory Parks of Pembroke; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Richard Loney of Savannah, Paula Parks of Pembroke, Lisa and Wayne Sexton of Bristol, VA and Vickie Chervenak of Colorado; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the funeral home 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019.  Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Spencer officiating.  Interment will follow at Northside Cemetery with full military honors.
