Pembroke-Mrs. Mary Ruth “Pat” Williams Mixon, age 75 passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 after an extended illness. Mrs. Mixon was a long-time resident of Millen and a member of Green Fork Baptist Church. She was a seamstress with Jockey International, and also served as a waitress and cook at Waffle House and Huddle House. She loved to fish, enjoyed dancing and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel Manual Peter Vergie and Mary Young Williams and three children Samuel Dean and Tommie Lee Raffield, Jr. and Mary Anna Raffield.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Bruce Edward and Shannon Raffield of Barnwell, SC, daughter and son-in-law Sammie and Johnny Cleland of Pembroke; and a sister Annie Lou Burke of Millen, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 12- 2 P.M Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 in the chapel of the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating. Interment will follow in Lawrence Baptist Cemetery. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
