Olan Dean "Trout" Butler

Mr. Olan Dean “Trout” Butler, 66, passed away at Candler Hospital on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Mr. Butler was born in Statesboro to the late James Olan Butler and Margaret Sanders Butler on November 24, 1958. He was employed with Groundworks Unlimited for 15 years and a heavy equipment operator and truck driver before becoming disabled. Mr. Butler enjoyed riding his side-by-side, swimming, playing horse shoes, spending time at the hunting club and tinkering with just about anything.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Larry Butler.

Survivors include three children, Dwayne Butler and his wife Wendy of Chattanooga, TN, Misty Harvey and her husband Michael of Pembroke and Jeremy Butler and his wife Lora of Metter; best friend and partner in crime, Gloria Butler of North Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Janice Bragg and her husband Danny and Darlene Bacon and her husband Hoynes all of Pembroke; six grandchildren, Mikayla, Mason, Carson, Roland, Elizabeth and Desiree; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Albert Hill officiating.

Burial will be held and Northside Cemetery.
