Nina Turner

Pembroke-  Nina Jean Cole Turner, age 73, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Candler Hospital after an extended illness.  Mrs. Turner was born in Savannah on August 19, 1948 to the late Calvin Hardie Cole, Sr and Anna Mae Davis Cole.  Mrs. Turner was a waitress and loved taking care of people.  She worked at Macky’s and later at Green Roof Restaurant in Pembroke and the Time Saver in Pembroke.  Mrs. Turner loved crafts and taking care of her animals and garden.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by three brothers, Calvin H. Cole, Jr., Larry Cole and Terry Cole and two sisters, Carole Faircloth and Anna Montene Cole.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Walter Woodrow “Woody” Turner of Pembroke;  two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Angelina Friese of Jesup and Eddie and Shannon Turner of Ellabell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christie and Steve Howard, Jr. of Pembroke and Patyi and Tony Smith of Ellabell; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Mark and Elizabeth Cole of Guyton and Patricia Cole of Black Creek; ten grandchildren, Erica and Hunter Stucky, Austin Friese, Kady and Tyler Jones, Tristan Friese, Courtney Adams, Wyatt Turner, Madison Turner, Samantha (Jared) Haymans, Tiffany Howard and Micaela (Matthew) Bowen; six great grandchildren, Olivia Jones, Emerson Friese, Kimberlynn Taylor, Ryder Turner, Felix Collaso and Rosalie Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 1-3 P.M. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 3 P.M. Thursday, February 10, 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with interment to follow in Ellabell Baptist Cemetery
