Frankie Hendry Miller, Pembroke, age 81, died peacefully Tuesday, May 27, 2014 while surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased in death by her husband of 37 years , Warren Miller, Sr., her parents Frank L. and Mary Lee Hendry, three brothers: Thurmond Hendry, Samuel Hendry, and Harry T. Hendry, three sisters: Marguarite Shaw, Lois Burnsed, and Uldine Burnsed.  She is survived by her son, Warren Miller, Jr. of Lanier, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mark Winters of Bellville, three grandchildren: Haley Winters of Lanier, Justin Miller of Lanier, and Megan Winters of Statesboro.  Other surviving relatives include her sisters, Virginia Lee of Black Creek, Carey Bacon of Pembroke and Glenda and Ray (brother-in-law) Carter of Black Creek, brothers-in-law Kenny Miller (Joan) and John W Miller (Linda) and close friend Corine Miller Brown.  Frankie also has many nieces and nephews.

Frankie was born July 21, 1932 in Liberty County, Georgia.  The Hendry family lived in Willie, GA until  they moved to Bryan County following the installation of the Fort Stewart Military Base.  Frankie attended Black Creek Elementary School and Bryan County High School from which she graduated in 1950.

Frankie and her husband, Warren, were married Feb. 10, 1951.They chose to make their home in the Lanier Community of North Bryan County. Frankie loved taking care of her family and helping in her community. She and Warren were blessed with two children who filled their lives with joy.  The Miller home was always a place where family and friends would gather to fellowship.

Frankie began working as a secretary for the Bryan County Board of Education at Bryan County High School in 1968.  She also later served as a bookkeeper for the school.  She remained with the Board of Education until she retired with twenty-three years of service.

Frankie was a dedicated member of the Ellabell United Methodist Church and was a member of the church choir, the Mary Lee Hendrix Circle, and the United Methodist Women.  She served as a Sunday School teacher, circle president, and UMW president as well as serving on various committees.  Frankie was also a member of the Savannah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She lived her life with discipline and integrity.  She possessed a great sense of humor and sharp wit which brought smiles to all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on from 6 -9 P.M. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Flanders Morrison Home in Pembroke.  Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2014 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at the Ellabell United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Those wishing to offer remembrances may do so in Frankie’s memory to Ellabell United Methodist Church, P.O.
