Pembroke- Mrs. Georgia Cecelia Roberts Miller Bacon, age 98, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at her home while surrounded by her family. Mrs. Bacon was a native of Evans County and a long-time resident of Pembroke. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holiness Church. Mrs. Bacon loved music and played both the piano and the harmonica. She was the dedicated matriarch to five generation and was the loving grandma to her neighborhood. No children were ever hungry at her house and no child did any wrong there either. Mrs. Bacon was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Henry Bacon, parents Georgia Mosley Roberts and Thomas A. Roberts, and children Eula Mae Miller Jones, Velvia Jean Miller Lee Powell, James Jerry Bacon and Jimmy Wallace Bacon.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rufus Edwin and Jean Bacon of Pembroke; daughters and sons-in-law Joyce Bacon Kirkland and Don Kirkland of Manassas, Audrey Bacon Lapp Steffen and Kenny Steffen of Lancaster, PA, Barbara Bacon Neighbor and Wayne Neighbor of Clarendon, N.C. and Linda "Woodie" Bacon Hansford and Raymond Hansford of Pembroke; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 3-6 P.M. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Groveland Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Bacons' caregivers, Leigh, Lydia and Odessa. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements
