Ellabell-Mr. James Keiffer McClelland Sr. age 88 passed away Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Candler Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. McClelland was a long time resident of Ellabell, a WWII Navy veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre, and retired from Union Camp where he was a Head Shift Electrician. He was a member of Old Fellowship Baptist Church of Stilson, Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge # 116 and a Blitchton Volunteer Fire fighter; a vivid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed tending his vegetable garden. He was predeceased by his parents Rufus and Maggie Carr McClelland.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Laverne Anderson McClelland of Ellabell, son Jimmy McClelland and daughter and son-in-law Nita and Ronnie Harvey all of Ellabell; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation is 6-8 P.M. Friday July 20, at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday July 21, in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Dr. Reland Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Old Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Stilson. Remembrances may be made to: Old Fellowship Baptist Church, 5526 US Hwy 80 E., Brooklet, GA. 30415. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
