Ellabell- Mr. James C. Cowart, age 41 died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at home while surrounded by his family. Mr. Cowart was a native of Savannah but had lived in Ellabell for the last 12 years. He was a painter by trade and enjoyed fishing, guns, drag racing and hotrods. James attended the Black Creek Holy Church of God and was predeceased by his parents Warren Lee Cowart, Sr. and Susan Wilkes Singletary.
Survivors include his wife Tonya Leigh Cowart of Ellabell; stepfather Tim Singletary of Portal; son Cody Cowart of Clito; daughter Elizabeth Lott of Statesboro; stepsons Wade Emmitt and Colin Ray of Ellabell; brother Warren Lee Cowart, Jr. of Oelwein, IA; sisters Maryann Ross of Clito and Miriam Emily Spangler of Portal; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, including his caregiver, Curtiss Williams of Ellabell.
Visitation will be held 5-8 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Franks officiating.
