Mr. Scott Dyer, age 34, passed away at East Georgia Regional Medical Center on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Mr. Dyer was born at Wynn Army Hospital in Hinesville to Gary Lee and Sandra L. VanGiller Dyer on November 25, 1988. He was a 2007 graduate of Southeast Bulloch and after high school started working as a train conductor for 10 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad. He later worked as a heavy equipment operator with multiple businesses and later opened his own heavy equipment business, Dyer Contracting, LLC. Mr. Dyer was a member of the Pigeon Club of Effingham and loved raising and racing pigeons. He was an avid collector of model trains and loved all types of animals.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Larry and Carlean Brown VanGiller and paternal grandparents, Samuel E.L. and Sarah J. Dyer.

He is survived by his parents, Gary Lee and Sandra L. VanGiller Dyer of Ellabell; longtime significant other, Natasha Hubbard of Savannah; step sister, Brandy Dyer of Fl and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be held at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
