Mrs. Mildred Louise Altman Powell, 82, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Monday, July 31, 2017. She was born on April 1, 1935 to the late Ollie Eugene and Henrietta Altman in Waycross.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Powell, Sr.; daughter, Joan Shaw and brother, Jimmy Powell.
Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Powell (Cindy) of Bloomingdale, Bruce Powell of LaGrange and Sidney Powell, Jr. of Elizabethon, TN; four daughters, Mary Etta Barber (Gerald) of Statesboro, Brenda Fadden of Statesboro, Gloria Grizzard of Richmond Hill and Emily Harrison (Donald) of Bahama, NC; brother, Andrew Altman; sister, Charlene; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 10 – 12 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery.
