Michael “Mikie” Keith Polk, age 32 was granted his angel wings on Jan. 27, 2017 following a tragic automobile accident. His final days were spent with some very special friends. Mikie was born December 31, 1984; the son of Ronnie and Joyce Shuman Polk. He attended Bryan County Schools and loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Mikie had a very giving spirit and touched many lives during his short time here on Earth. When it came to work, his passion was any job outside. When it came to heavy equipment, there was nothing that he couldn’t operate. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wyvus and Hattie Mae Polk and maternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Mary Shuman.
Mikie is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Joyce Polk of Black Creek; his brother and sister-in-law, Ronn and LyAnne Polk of Black Creek; his sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Junior Simmons of Black Creek and four very special nieces and nephews, Shylyr Simmons, Mary Ellen Polk, Ava Polk, and Trevin Polk.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating.
Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
