Ellabell- Mervin Allen Goulette, Sr., age 73, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at Hospice Savannah. Mr. Goulette was born October 9, 1948 in Savannah, GA. He retired with over 34 years of service as a machinist for Kerr McGee and was a long-time farmer. After his retirement, Mr. Merv was a short-haul truckdriver. He enjoyed camping in the mountains, researching his Wise Family history, and was a member of the Goldwing Motorcycle Club. Mr. Goulette was a NASCAR fan, loved sharing vegetables from his garden with his family and friends and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Goulette was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Mrs. Janice Waldhour Goulette and his mother and step-father, Frances and James Bacon.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Hannah Goulette, Jr. of Brunswick; four daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Tony Quinn of Hinesville, Frances G. and Brandon Gibbs of Alpharetta, Jacquelyn G. and Jason Weeks of Bloomingdale and Jennifer and Caleb Minis of Ellabell; one sister, Janet Harvey of Hinesville; nine grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Clint Sullens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
