Mrs. Maxie Dean DeLoach Butler, age 96, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mrs. Butler was born in Bulloch County on May 12, 1924 to the late Brooks and Ima Bell DeLoach. She retired from the Bryan County Board of Education as a school bus driver with 30 years of service. Mrs. Butler was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in Pembroke.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Elton Butler.
Survivors include three children, Jerry Butler and his wife Addie of Ellabell, Mike Butler and his wife Jackie of Pembroke and Jeff Butler and his wife Melinda of Stilson; brother, Ronald DeLoach and his wife Essie of Ellabell; two sisters, Margie Corley and Carletta Barner both of Guyton; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Flanders Powell Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at Olive Branch Baptist Church on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Clint Sullens and Reverend Darnell Barner officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
