Mary Ellen Bolen

Mrs. Mary Ellen Smith Bolen, age 57, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Mrs. Bolen was born in Claxton on September 29, 1965 to Ronald C. Smith, Sr. and Mary Shuman Sapp. She worked as a cook for Gas Pro Travel Center, enjoyed spending time with her family, loved hard and was a firecracker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton “Bambam” Bolen and father. Ronald C. Smith, Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Autry Bolen and his wife Jekelia and Dylan Bolen both of Atlanta; mother, Mary Shuman Sapp and her husband Jr. of Statesboro; three brothers, Ron Smith and his wife Whitney of Statesboro, Anthony Smith and his wife Amber of Glenville and Ashley Smith and his wife Gina of Claxton; three sisters, Rhonda DeLoach and her husband Danny of Statesboro, Talia Bland of Glenville and Amanda Smith of Claxton; long-time companion, Michael Allen Boyd of Statesboro; five grandchildren, Zalyn, Jalyn, Ian, Jacob and Kali and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy in Claxton.

Funeral service will follow with Pastor Russell Kessler officiating.

Burial will be held in the Brewton Cemetery.
