Marsha Lou Greene was born in Ohio on November 23, 1943, to Anne and Kenneth Greene. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on August 1, 2026, in Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 82.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jo Anne Baker.

Marsha grew up in Ohio with a deep appreciation for family, a devotion to God, and a passion for living life to its fullest. She attended Perry High School. After high school, she married Frank Geistle, and together they began their family. They later divorced.

In her later years, Marsha brought her love, warmth, and wonderfully crazy spirit to Georgia, where she continued to make memories and touch the lives of everyone around her.

Marsha was truly one of a kind and larger than life. She will be remembered for her unforgettable smile and her amazingly intense, vibrant, and spontaneous personality. She had a unique way of bringing energy, laughter, and fun wherever she went.

She found joy in the passions and simple pleasures that made her uniquely Marsha. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, collecting teapots, and spending time with her two cats. She enjoyed traveling, sunshine, beaches, and being outdoors. She embraced life with enthusiasm and found happiness in the things she loved.

Marsha worked in the food and beverage industry and later in healthcare as a nurse’s aide. She put her heart and soul into her work and gave generously of herself.

She also cherished her friendships and social circles, finding immense joy, laughter, and companionship through her Red Hat Lunches and events. These friendships brought her happiness and created wonderful memories.

Above all, Marsha had an unwavering love for God. Her faith guided her throughout her life and shone brightly to everyone who knew her.

She attended The Bridge Church in Pembroke, Georgia and was an active part of the congregation.

Marsha never hesitated to volunteer, lend a helping hand, or provide support to her family and those in need. She generously gave her time, kindness, and love to others. If someone needed help, Marsha was ready to step in.

Marsha’s greatest legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Anne Beard (Liz), Mary Louise Daughters, (Gigi) and Frank Geistle (Sam).

Her grandchildren are David Beard (wife Keisha), Danielle Daughters-Quinteros (husband Vincent), Danina O’Leary (husband Jon), Cherish Chubb (husband Duane), Samantha Thomlison, and Rory Becker.

She was also blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren: Kayden Coats, Baylor Beard, Ella Beard, Milania Quinteros, Victoria Quinteros, Kamryn O'Leary, Karson O'Leary, Kenli O'Leary, Charli Chubb, Calli Nevinski, Rhys Chubb, Rori Chubb, and Francisco Alvarez.

To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Marsha was affectionately known as “Crazy Grandma.” They have countless funny stories, adventures, and memories of time with her—memories that will be treasured and retold for generations to come.

Marsha brought high spirits, fun, chaos, laughter, and joy to life. She had a personality that could never be forgotten and a heart that made people feel loved. She lived boldly, loved deeply, gave generously, and enjoyed life in her own wonderfully unique way.

Her family and friends will miss her smile, her laughter, her stories, her energy, and, of course, her wonderfully crazy spirit. But they will also carry forward the lessons she gave them: to love your family, help others, enjoy the sunshine, make memories, laugh often, and never be afraid to be yourself.

Her life was never short on adventure, whether anyone planned for it or not. The brightest memories do not come from perfect days. They come from the kind of days only she could create, like the giant sinkhole in Gigi's backyard. That one still gets a laugh. You almost think it was an attempt to get rid of Milania, but really it was just one more family adventure. Then there was the shrimp cocktail incident, happily snacking away, only to find out afterward that it had expired.

Somehow, even that became one of those stories that only gets funnier with time. Marsha was not polished or predictable. She was spontaneous, fearless, and wonderfully chaotic. She filled every room with laughter, stories, and just enough craziness to make ordinary days unforgettable. But just beneath all that humor and chaos was a steady, deep love. She loved with her whole heart, and the memories she created will live on. And somewhere, you can just imagine her now, smiling, maybe causing just a little heavenly mischief, reminding everyone she loved. Don't be too crazy now, okay?

Marsha's life was a gift to all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched.
