Marlene Mincey Ball

Mrs. Marlene Mincey Ball, age 71, passed away at Hospice of Savannah on Thursday, August 24, 2023. She was born in Baxley on August 12, 1952 to the late Bud Mincey and Doris Evans Mincey. Mrs. Ball worked for 23 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement. She was a member of Compassion Christian Church in Savannah, enjoyed watching the Savannah Bananas baseball team, loved her dogs, family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jacki Novak; her sister Shirley Collins who passed hours after Marlene; two brothers, Pete Mincey and Carl Mincey “Uncle Jr.”; niece, Darlene and nephew, Jeffrey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 23 years, Jeff Ball; two sons, Joe Kesler and his wife Deborah of Wilmington Island and Kevin Kesler and his wife Farheen of Colonels Island; sister, Brenda Molina and her husband Eddie of Austin, Tx; sister-in-law, Cynthia Mincey of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Justin, Melanie, Nickolas, Jack and Piper Jolee; nieces, Rachelle and Heather; nephews, Evan, Dustin and Michael; closest cousin and her ride or die, Rhonda Hughes; only surviving aunt, Christine Skinner and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenny Grant.

Burial will be held at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
