Ms. Marie Agnes Kozal, age 81, entered her eternal rest on Monday, July 31, 2023. Ms. Kozal was born in Grand Rapids, MI on May 12, 1942 to the late Harry J. Kozal and Johanna Ulanowski Kozal. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, MI. After high school, she was employed as an assembler at Johnson Furniture Co. and Westinghouse Office Furniture until her medical retirement in 1998, after being diagnosed with progressive MS. In 2003, she moved to Ellabell, GA to live with her brother and sister-in-law and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pembroke.
Marie was the sweetest lady tat was loved by everyone who met her. She was known for her caring thoughtfulness of family and friends. She had a special love for children, cats and dogs. We are grateful for the exceptional care given to her at Cedar Plantation Assisted Living in Metter, GA. By the staff, (especially Karen Chapman) along with the many care givers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry J. Kozal and Johanna Ulanowski Kozal and two sisters, Elizabeth Ryan and Dolores Coleman.
Survivors include her brother, Harry S.J. Kozal and his wife Jane of Ellabell; niece Lorie Ryan and nephew Len Ryan.
A Memorial Catholic Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pembroke with Father Tom Murphy officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI.
