Maria Carmela Anselmo Beckworth

Maria Carmela Anselmo Beckworth, age 95, passed away Monday, June 3, 2025 at her home while under hospice care. She was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Anthony Anselmo and Lucia Li Causi Anselmo. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Maria enjoyed playing the organ and had a wonderful singing voice. She loved to dance, was delighted in having friends and family to love and enjoyed shopping. Maria always loved to tell us about her and her twin sister Antoinette performing for the veterans at Walter Reed Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Salvador Anselmo and four sisters, Pauline Messineo, Rosette Ruprecht, Josephine Hamlette and twin sister, Antoinette Miller.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Robin Tyler of Ellabell, Michael S. and Mary Tyler of Ellabell and William and Cindy Tyler of Pooler; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Tyler Powell and Mike Powell of Ellabell, Nancy and Donald Kromer of Ellabell and Theresa and Tom Butcher of Enterprise, AL; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren.

A catholic mass will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Tom Murphy officiating.
