Linda Diane Curl, age 68, of Brooklet, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026. Born on a warm summer Sunday, July 28th, 1957, in the vibrant city of Savannah, Georgia, Linda embraced life with a heart full of love and compassion.
Linda devoted her career to Blue Cross Cahaba formerly Aetna, where she served as a dedicated manager, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Her work was a reflection of her commitment to excellence and her innate ability to lead with grace and integrity.
Above all, Linda cherished her family. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she found immense joy in the company of her children and 18 grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, and she relished every moment spent with them, whether it was fishing at Lake Sinclair or simply enjoying cherished moments at home.
Linda is survived by her loving children: Regina Curl (Leon) of Brooklet, Austin Smoak of Brooklet, Lyman Curl (Sheree) of Meldrim, and Christie Swain (Brian) of Pembroke. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Lary Elton "Uncle Chunk" Blackston (Deborah) of Savannah; two cherished sisters, Susan Pritchard (John) of Savannah and Vickie Tumlin (Skeeter) of Savannah; as well as her adored grandchildren: Leanne, Alisha, Hailey, Shelby, Bubba, Aubrey, Gauge, Lilly, Hunter, Mason, Jaxon, Hannah, Landen, Bailey, Rebecca, Madison, Little Brian, and Cristina. In addition, she is fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 16 years, John Kenneth Curl; her parents, Elton Blackston and Wellene Miller Blackston; and her brother, Jamie Blackston.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service, led by Reverend Tim Huffington, will follow at 1:00 pm in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
