She was born July 25, 1927 and raised in Chester, SC by the late Perry E. Jones and Annie P. Slater Jones. After marrying her late husband Norman Lee “Pete” Bridges, Lillie Mae moved to Savannah, Georgia and had three cherished daughters and son before moving permanently to her home of Bloomingdale, Georgia.

She enjoyed traveling to see her family, tending to her treasured crepe myrtle trees, and cracking word searches. Lillie Mae was an active member of the Bloomingdale Church of the Nazarene. She worked as both a seamstress and as a bookkeeper/owner with her husband at the family-owned Chevron Station at Five Points.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Norman Lee “Pete” Bridges; one son, Terrell “Bubba” Lee Bridges, Sr.; one sister, Annie Nell Walker; one great-granddaughter Rianne Soleil Sasser and one son-in-law, Anthony Lee.  She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Bridges Lee of Pembroke, Tabitha Bridges Heape of Ellabell and Geraldine Bridges Saxon and her husband, Randy of Bloomingdale;  two sisters, Opal Jones Alford of Savannah and Iris Jones Cone of Rincon; 11 grandchildren and their spouses; Karen Davis (Kenny), Cheri Alderman (Mark), Terrell “Terry” Bridges, Jr. (Lindsay), Brian Bridges (Lisa), Julie Shurling (Garrett), Jennifer Talley (James), Lyle Heape, Wynona Heape, Samantha Reed (Peter), Brandy Marshall (Rusty) and Zack Saxon (Courtney). She also leaves behind 22 beloved great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
