John Futch, Sr.

Pembroke-Mr. John Kelly Futch, Sr, age 81, passed away on January 11, 2019.   Mr. John was born in Evans County, Georgia on November 30, 1937 and was raised in the Bulloch County area by his parents, Kelly and Marie Gibson Futch.

Mr. John was a 1955 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School.  He owned and operated John’s Package Shop (Club 67) for 40 years. Mr. John was a member of Northside Baptist Church and attended regularly for most of his life.

Mr. John enjoyed planting and tending his garden.  In recent years, on most days, he could be found having coffee and socializing at McDonald’s.

Mr. John was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Ray Futch.  He leaves behind his two sons, John Kelly Futch, Jr. of Pembroke and Mark David Futch of Bloomingdale, along with three grandchildren, John Kelly Futch, III and Kyle Dean Futch of Jay, Florida and Jaime Marie Futch of Bloomingdale.  Mr. John is also survived by his siblings: Mary Futch Crosby of Hagin, Ralph and Margie Futch Kessler of Rincon, Jack and Bonita Futch of Pembroke, Felton and Sybil Futch Bacon of Macon, Joe and Linda Futch of Brooklet, Doug and Virginia Futch Shuman of Jacksonville, Florida, Lee and Beverly Futch of Statesboro, David and Carolyn Futch Dawson of Savannah and Roger and Brenda Futch of Jacksonville and sister-in-law, Phyllis Futch. .  He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at visitation from 5-8 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home in Pembroke.  Funeral services for Mr. John will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Spencer officiating.  Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery.
