Jimmy "Bird" DeLoach, a husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on Monday, August 3rd, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on Wednesday, February 12th, 1969, in Statesboro, Georgia, Jimmy made Ellabell, GA his home, where his warmth and kindness touched many lives.
For 15 years, Jimmy dedicated his career as an Aircraft Coordinator at Gulfstream, where his expertise and commitment earned him deep respect and admiration among his colleagues. Outside of work, Jimmy's heart belonged to the great outdoors. As a proud member of the Lewis Hunting Club, he cherished hunting trips, fishing excursions, and sunny days spent searching for shark teeth along the beach. His love for nature was only rivaled by his deep-seated affection for the mountains.
Family was the cornerstone of Jimmy's life. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 33 years, Bridget Smith DeLoach, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. He was a proud father to his son, Calin DeLoach (Kaci), and daughter, Caitlyn DeLoach (Kyle Livingston), both of whom remained close to their Georgia roots. Jimmy was a grandfather to two cherished grandchildren, Remington and Randy DeLoach, with another grandchild on the way, a source of great joy for him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jackie DeLoach, and his sister, Jill DeLoach. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Northcutt, two brothers, Jack "Bubba" DeLoach (Trish) and Brooks DeLoach, and three sisters, Cindy Goodman (Robbie), Susan MacRae, and Amanda Bukowski (Eric). He also leaves behind a loving extended family, including his father and mother-in-law, Edward and Elaine Smith, a brother-in-law, E.L. Smith, two sisters-in-law, Jessica Moore and Miranda Gunn (Richard), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place at Flanders Powell Funeral Home on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
