Obituary

Jesse Leo Bazemore Jr., a beloved resident of Pembroke, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 23rd, 2026, at the age of 64. He was born on Thursday, December 14th, 1961, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Jesse Leo Bazemore Sr. and Linda Findley Bazemore.

Jesse, known fondly as Lee to family and friends, was a self-employed carpenter and painter, a trade he mastered over many years. His dedication to his craft was only surpassed by his love for his family and his faith. A devout member of the First Baptist Church of Pembroke, Lee was deeply involved in the Adult 3 Sunday School Class and was highly respected for his steadfast devotion and kindness.

Lee’s life was a testament to simplicity, generosity, and unwavering gentleness. Recognized in his community not only as a talented carpenter but also as a man always willing to lend a helping hand, his friendly and humorous nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He led a quiet, humble life, characterized by his love for his family, particularly his wife, Sandy, whom he cherished deeply. His grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were his pride and joy.

An avid NASCAR fan, Lee never missed a race and loyally supported his favorite driver, Kyle Busch, sharing that enthusiasm with those around him.

Lee is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Youngblood Bazemore, and his family: son Chris Collins and his wife Ashley; stepchildren Jennifer Hudson, Craig Kelley, and Liz Summitt with her husband Jon; and five cherished grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, David Bazemore, and uncle Robbie Findley and his wife Gloria. In addition, Lee's memory is held dear by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joann and Al Durrence, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse Leo Bazemore Sr. and Linda Findley Bazemore.

To celebrate Lee’s remarkable life, a Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Pembroke on Thursday, October 29th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm at the same location.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lee's honor to the Children and Youth Fund at First Baptist Church of Pembroke, a reflection of his generous heart and commitment to nurturing future generations.

Lee’s legacy of love, kindness, and humor will continue to inspire all who knew him.
