Savannah

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Jerry Lugene Williams, a cherished resident of Eden, GA. Jerry left this world on January 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service that touched many lives.

Jerry was born on July 12, 1940, in Ogeechee, Georgia, to the late Bertie Stewart Williams and Allen Williams. He grew up with a compassionate heart and a curious mind, traits that guided him throughout his life. In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his brothers, Ernest, Lacy, and Thurman Williams; as well his baby sister, Jackie Williams.

Jerry proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marines, embodying the values of loyalty, courage, and service. His career as a maintenance supervisor at Gulfstream spanned over 20 years, where he became known for his dedication and problem-solving skills. After retirement, he found joy in working at Carroll and Carroll Trucking and International Paper.

Known for his good sense of humor and willingness to help others, Jerry was an avid fisherman and an excellent carpenter. He had a particular knack for creating an organized "junk yard," always ready with the extra parts someone might need. Jerry's mornings were enriched by his love for coffee, as he listened to his audio Bible and sought wisdom from Dr. Charles Stanley's teachings.

Family was at the heart of Jerry’s life. He leaves behind his children, Gene (Penny) Williams, Terri Teel, Charlie Williams, Beverly Tripp, and Tracy (Shay) Williams; stepchildren Tonia and Melissa; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by his siblings, Bernice and Lewis, numerous nieces and nephews, and Dot Williams, the mother of his children and his best friend. He is remembered as the best dad, one who instilled strong values in his children, balancing love with determination and guidance.

Jerry will be honored at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory in Pembroke, GA, with a visitation on Friday, January 30th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory.
